Ricky Castanedo Laredo is an artist based out of the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh nations, by way of the high mountains of Mexico City.

RCL's primary focus is printed matter — Posters, books, magazines, record sleeves, etc. He has a guilty love for blackletter and other preposterous typefaces, but admits there is a time and place for everything. A printmaker by trade, RCL's signature style brings the physicality of design back into the digital medium. He may be the only designer in a thousand mile radius who enjoys mottled ink, creased paper, and the gritty look of a bad photocopy.

A designer and music director by day, by night he can be found on instagram as @outer.darkness — a temporal anomaly that spits out drawings from the return bin of an abandoned Blockbuster — or, playing to empty bars throughout the world in punk rock bands.
